Back to PayrollFerry1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how OBB Holdings LLC ("PayrollFerry," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the PayrollFerry desktop application, license keys, support, and this website (together, the "Service"). It is written for the firms and individuals who purchase, activate, or use PayrollFerry.
2. Local-by-design: the data we do not collect
PayrollFerry processes payroll reports on your own Windows or Mac machine. The payroll reports you supply, the data inside them, and the isolved import files PayrollFerry produces are read and written locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us, transmitted to a cloud middleman, or held in our custody as part of normal operation. We do not receive your clients' payroll data through the product.
3. Information we do handle
3.1 Account and purchase information
When you buy a subscription or get in touch, we collect the information needed to set up and bill your account, such as your name, firm name, business email address, and the billing details required to process payment. Payment-card processing is handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers ourselves.
3.2 License activation and validation
To confirm your key is active, the application performs a lightweight license check with our servers. This check is limited to license-validation information (for example, your license key and basic activation metadata such as a timestamp). It does not transmit your clients' payroll data.
3.3 Support communications
When you email support, we receive the contents of your message and any information you choose to include. We use it to help you. Please do not send real client payroll data in a support request unless we specifically ask and agree on a secure method.
3.4 Website information
When you visit this website, our hosting provider may process standard technical information such as your IP address and request logs to deliver and secure the site. This site does not run third-party advertising trackers, and we set the interest-cohort=() permissions policy to opt out of cohort-based ad targeting.
4. How we use information
- To provide, activate, and maintain the Service and your license.
- To process payments and manage your subscription, including renewals and cancellations.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To send you essential service messages about your account, security, or material changes to the Service.
- To secure the Service and to comply with our legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your information. We share the limited information described above only with service providers who help us run the business, such as our payment processor and our hosting and email providers, and only as needed for them to perform those services. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, the security of the Service, or the safety of others. If our business is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. Data retention
We keep account, billing, and license information for as long as your subscription is active and as needed afterward to meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations. We keep support communications for as long as needed to resolve your request and maintain a reasonable history. Because your clients' payroll data stays on your machine, its retention is controlled by you, not by us.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect the information we handle. The local-by-design architecture of PayrollFerry is itself a privacy measure: keeping client payroll data on your own machine means it is not exposed in our systems. You are responsible for securing the data and import files stored on your devices and network.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the account and support information we hold about you, subject to legal and recordkeeping limits. You can opt out of non-essential email at any time; we will still send essential service messages while your subscription is active. To make a request, email support@payrollferry.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, and we will honor those rights as required.
9. Children
PayrollFerry is a business tool intended for firms and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
